I we're nthink we are because all of our cells are the same, we're just a tiny bit more evolved but we're still 'animals'. But people think its terrible to be called an animal because theyre dirty creatures that roll around on the ground something lol. we arent exactly some sort of new species, most christians think we are because of the god crap but i dno i dont think so. what do you think?

1 that stupid *** paragraph that says god let man rule over animals. i really thi9nk if you believe that you must have mush instead of a brain. lol i think the only things that are different is opposably thumbs and thats about it. animals have free will even more than us and they have their own language just because we dont uderstsnd it doesnt mean its not real.

Well of course we're animals from a biological point of view. And yes, evolution is about our biological history as animals.
But that doesn't mean we are animals in every sense. We do not have to "behave like animals." We are not bound by that biological history ... any more than we are bound by our human history. All of our ancestors just 800 years ago were violent barbarians. But if how our ancestors behaved 800 years ago is irrelevant to how we behave today, then how our animal ancestors behaved 8,000,000 years ago is completely irrelevant.
However, a couple of corrections:
1) It is not correct to say we are a "bit more evolved." All other animals are just as *evolved* as we are ... they are just as much a result of 4 billion years of evolution as we are.
2) There is no need to call other people's beliefs "stupid" or "crap." Intolerance sucks.
There is nothing wrong with anything jok15690 wrote. His point #1 is exactly correct. And his point #2 is a very fair description of how a belief in God can co-exist just fine with the scientific understanding of evolution.

well jsut so you know I am christian living in lebanon ( middle east) and i atend a chritian high school an d like al te schools in the entire world we learn biology. And since like kindergarden ( or whutever) we know that the human is an animal and we even study the difference between the humans and the monkeys considering the shape of wahtever organ and especially the genes which leads to a cshared ancestor thousand of years ago.
so : 1- don't post information u're not sure bout
2- We believe that the human is an animal as in the biological term but we also believe that all this evolution wasn't made just like that it's all thanks to god. If you did take lots of courses in biology I can give u an example like : god created the genes to evolve and then duplicate and go place themselves on other chromosomes to create new characters specific for the human beings)

We are animals.
We have the same DNA elements as the lowliest bacteria. We share 90% or more of the same genetics as the other primates and many of our organ systems function identical to other mammals (which is why we can do first tests of drugs on mice or rats). These are facts not opinions by the way.
Animals aren't necessarily dirty creatures. They are like humans, some are filthy and some are sparkling clean it depends on their environment, species etc.

people are a sort of animal. we've lots greater in basic with dogs and monkeys and fish than we've with cacti and molds and cedar trees. yet animals are not a species of people. you're instructor could have been mumbling or something.

We are clearly animals.
- multicellular
- no cell walls
- cells have centrioles
- we have nervous systems
- we are heterotrophic
All of these are characteristics of Kingdom Animalia.
