To clarify, it's either him or your kids. Someone will most certainly die one way or the other.

You threaten my family, I'm taking you out, absolutely.

Absolutely w/o even thinking about it. If my kids are in danger, you bet your a$$ you're going down if you're the reason for it.

For a stranger, most likely. I can't say as certain as I did with my children, but I'd like to think that if someone was in danger, & I could help, that I would.

It also depends on if their life is in danger b/c they were a threat first. If they did something and then the person retaliated in self defense, I wouldn't stand in their way.

Anyone messes with my kids I will go psycho on them, no hesitation. I would defend the life of a stranger, too. It's a human being, people. Everyone's so concerned about animals and the planet but what about other people? I happen to value human life and have stepped up to defend a stranger, I'd do it again.

Without a doubt, and without giving it a second thought!
Anybody looking to harm my children is taking their life out of their own hands, and putting it in mine. And I WILL crush that life! After making them suffer for a while. To quote Ving Rhames from Pulp Fiction "I'm gonna get midevil on your a$$."
As for a stranger, I might not use the deadly force that I would for my children, but I would (and have) intervene to help somebody.

in a heart beat for my kid. I don't think I could for a stranger. I am psycho when it comes to my kid. One time my babysitter brought my son home smelling like smoke. I am a smoker myself but NEVER around my son. I totally freaked out and fired her!! So if my childs life was threatened the possibilities are endless to what I might do.

Definitely, I didn't buy a gun and take shooting lessons at the firing range to wimp out if needed.
Like a lioness protecting her cubs, if a stranger attacks my children, HE WILL DIE.
As for protecting a stranger, yes , I think instincts would kick in and I'd do what was neccessary there as well.

If their life was in danger, absolutely without hesitation. I'd do the same for anyone's kids. If it were an adult, they would also have to be in danger of losing their life in order for me to take the attackers life. The situation always determines the course of action I take. If someone is pointing a gun in my direction, I'm not going to wait until they shoot to see if they are a serious threat.

If its them or my kids, then that person is dead. I'm not a violent person, but we're talking about my children. Two people who I carried inside me for 9 months. The first I felt them move inside me and I was in love instantly. There's no way I'd stand by while someone harmed them. I would kill for them if I had to and I'd die for them too.

If the life of the person was in serious (and imminent) threat of harm or death, preventative steps can be taken.

For instance, if a man has a gun aimed at your daughters head, blowing him away is technically legal. Scary though because you have to prove the gun was pointed at her head. I say, shoot, then ask the questions. I'd rather go to jail then let someone harm my kids.

I don't think I could kill them, but I could definitely cause some serious bodily harm if they were threatening my children.

I would help a stranger as well, but I woud feel less compelled probablly.

I would save my kids before a stranger. But seeing as how I don't have kids yet this question doesn't really apply to me. I have nieces and nephews that might as well be my kids. And I would do ANYTHING to protect them.
