Since this is already in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b), you can read off the slope (m) and intercept (b).

y = -2/3 x + 4

m = -2/3 (negative = downward slope)
b = 4 (meaning it crosses the y axis at 4 --> 0,4)

Start at the y-intercept (0, 4) and then go down 2 and right 3. That gets you to (3, 2). Repeat and you get to (6, 0). Connect those points with a line.

See the attached graph:

when u have a term with x ( sorry i'm french educated lol) like here -2/3x then followed by a term independent from x ( here 4) the line intercepts the y axis on ( 0;4). so tht's ur first point
now just pick any y u want say 2.
place 2 in the equation above :
y= -2/3x + 4
2= -2/3x +4
-2/3x = 2-4
-2/3x = -2
-2x = -6
x = 3
so that you second point : ( 3;1) u just trace the line passign by these 2 poitns and voila u have ur line
p.s : u can skip the part where u think bout th eline passing by (0;4). In fact when u take any "y" and replace it in the euation u can get an x so all u ahve to do is pick 2 y.
Also u can pick an x and find its y :
for example if x = 3 ) here it's best to take 3 or -3 or a multiple of 3 to make the 2/3's 3 disappear and tht will leave u less work) if u didn't understand jsut see below :
if x = 3 :
y= -2/3x +4
y = -2/3 * 3 + 4
y = -2 + 4
y = 2
tht's another point ( 3;2)

if u really want to understand mathematics do it this way and not just count the units left and right it's just so basic and doesn't give u much logic just remeber that any point can fit in sych an equationjust pick a value for x or y ( p.s : some equations can't admit all x's but i don't think u'll see htem this year..depending on how old u are)

sorry if this sounds complicated but trust me it's the best way of thinking at least...ure' thinking!!!!!

It's a line that passes through 0,4 and for every 3 units you move right it move down two units.

so some points are:
(-3,6)
(0,4)
(3,2)
(6,0)
