You know, instead of neatly tearing off your squares, do you grab one end and chop the middle like me?

In Taekwando there are knife hand, ridge hand, and spear hand thrust. These are all the strikes that are with the open hand. Oops, I forgot the slap and " bil gee" LOL. The so called Karate chop is usually reserved to describe a short strike using the knife hand to the opponent. I have never been in a class in Wing Chun Kung Fu or Taekwando where these were specifically called chops. The only time I have heard this term is in some very old movies.
