While there have been some wildly popular cars since WWII (VW Beetle, Ford Mustang), this era has been defined by a proliferation of models, and by the embrace of the concept of "planned obsolescence." No one car model has had that kind of ubiquity or market share in the US since the Model T.

So the answer is "there isn't one."

If popularity is anything to go by, then from 1964 the Ford Mustang became one of the best-selling cars of the era in the US. Earlier than that, there was the Plymouth: 'For much of its life, Plymouth was one of the top selling American automobile brands, along with Chevrolet and Ford ("the low-priced three"). Plymouth even surpassed Ford for a time in the 1940s as the second most popular make of automobiles in the U.S. Through 1956, Plymouth vehicles were known for their durability, affordability and engineering.'

Depends on exactly what years you're looking at. Chevy and Ford usually were neck and neck in sales. However from 1964 to about 1970 the Ford Mustang pretty well out sold everything else.
