For those who don't know what the Golden Rule is it's "treat others the way you want to be treated"

I do, but it only works for me when it works at all because I want to be treated nicely and only when I interact with that small segment of the population that believes in such a rule. Two exceptions really mess the whole thing up: some people like to be treated badly and so when they follow the rule of reciprocity, they treat others badly. The other exception is that some people see kindness as a weakness and they take advantage of the kindness of others without giving anything back.
It works when it works, but often it doesn't.

Yes mate!,
i do that and if someone dont treat me well, i dont miss an opportunity to complain as i dont want to treat others that way either.
It is same as "Give respect and Get respect"
But unfortunately, the new generation dont believe in Golden rules and tend to make their own rules because of lack of a proper guidance in this fast changing society.

No, the golden rule is presumptuous....not everyone likes to be treated like I do....some like to be treated better, and some like to be treated worse.
I live by the Platinum rule....treat others how THEY wish to be treated...you can never go wrong.

I do my best to treat people the way I like to be treated. But sometimes I fall short.

Yep I really try! Now and then I have slip ups and say/do nasty things but I try to apologize in a timely fashion just as I'd want someone else to! Then there are times when I'm just completely oblivious that I'm hurting someone else...this is a part of being human!

99% of the time, yes. It's the other 1% that always gets me into trouble.
Incidentally, have you ever thought about how that rule would apply to sex? Because what you do to the other person is hardly what you'd want done to you in many cases. I mean, think about it. EW!

the golden rule? i suppose. i treat people the way they deserve to be treated. if someone is nice, i'll be nice to them. if someone is a complete ****, ill be a total **** with them. simply because thats the way i would expect people to treat me....so ...i guess i change my answer from i suppose to yes.
