You have a difference of cubes.
(2b)^3 - (3)^3

The formula is:
(x - y)(x² + xy + y²)

That means you should get:
(2b - 3)((2b)² + (2b)(3) + 3²)
(2b - 3)(4b² + 6b + 9)

If you are *factoring* you should keep both parts. If you are dividing by (2b - 3) then you would just have the part you had in your answer.

8b³ - 27
in general
(a³ - b³) = (a - b)(a² + ab + b²)
so factoring your equation would be
(2b - 3)(4b² + 6b + 9) and this IS the real solution
based on standard math tables
you must have been given a term to factor by like (2b-3)
