Yes I am extremely happy about this. Andy Pettitte is a great Yankee, and still has enough left to be a very solid starting pitcher for us this season.

Any Yankee fan who says they are not after the year he had is kidding themselves. His return is HUGE and gives the young pitching staff a year to learn from one of the best Yankee pitchers in their history on how to be a yankee and handle the pressure of NY. 46 needs to go into Monument Park when Andy hangs it up.

Well i'm not a a Yankee Fan but i do follow alot of baseball , so andy pet yeah he's going to do good for you guy's, but i say it's a bad move on your part becasue he old and the yankees are a veteran team and they want to get older, so they shouldnt have signed him. Now if u love hughs and your other prospects for the santana trade then you pitching staff is going to lok ok for 1, 2,3 rotation, becasue chabba is not that good yet, and your 5th rotation i don't know. But yes i kinda glad to see him becasue i'm a METS fan i love taxing that *** in ever subway series LMAO!!! but still very good to see him back. SEE U IN 08 MAN LETS GO METS !!!!

i visit furnish Pettitte a great status ovation while i circulate to a minimum of one in each of his video games next twelve months, and that i think of he gets the main important hand out of all people on beginning Day. I nonetheless love Andy and he relatively confirmed he's no longer a mendacity scumbag like Clemens or Bonds. Giambi and Pettitte are on a distinctive boat when you consider that they admit to it. And Pettitte is between the main suitable Yankee hurlers we've had in an prolonged time.

I am glad he is returning but they could use another starter in that rotation. They should go after Bedard from the O's or Haren from the A's. They are asking for too much for Santana, in my opinion. I don't think they should give up Cabrera or Hughes. If they give up Cabrera then who are they going to put in CF? I hope not Damon. He showed last year that he can no longer field that position. They should keep their young talent and build around it.

I'm 50-50 on it cuz if he was contemplating retirement, I dont think he's totally focused on winning a championship but also, we're "out" of the race for Santana so it's nice to kno a veteran is coming back for one more try. Also, if we dont get Santana, we're looking at a rotation with Wang, 3 VERY young starters (if Joba goes to the rotation) and a big question mark.

Super Happy. He's our pitcher who always seems to turn it around like in 96 World Series and even this year after Wang got slapped around in Game 1.

All Yankees fans should be happy, even at his age he will be better, in 2008, than many of the younger pitchers in MLB
