For dinner Turkey and ham and stuffing and creamed potatoes and roast potatoes and sprouts and mushy peas and carrots and cranberry sauce and maybe a few croquettes washed down with a nice bottle of wine.
For dessert sherry trifle and christmas pudding with brandy sauce.
Then fall asleep in front of the tv with my paper hat on stuffed.

My family has a cookout every year! We live in Northern PA so there's always a ton of snow, but we fire up the grill anyways. It's nice to taste hamburgers, grilled chicken, pasta salad, potato salad, etc in the dead of winter. We figure Thanksgiving is always about the food, Christmas should be more fun food. We go to church on Christmas morning so that is the focus of the morning and family is the focus of the afternoon. :o)

Many people carry the Thanksgiving type meal into Christmas, and our family got tired of that. Now we get creative. Make a gourmet meal instead. This year we're having a roast, brisket, baked chicken with rosemary, cornbake, stuffing (okay, my mom's is the best, have to have it again), honey glazed baby carrots, twice baked potatoes. Haven't decided on desserts yet. Hope this helps!!

We usually end up going to THREE different houses because we have so much family here locally. We end up eating turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, green been casserole, and lots of deserts like snickers pie (my fav!), peanut butter pie, etc. We have a lot of stops on Thanksgiving & Christmas so I just try to graze at each house so I don't explode by the end of the day! :)

On Christmas Day is more intimate.. prime rib roast, Ambrosia, Waldorf Salad, and other things.. we also do a more casual Lasagne night on Christmas eve and have a lot of people over.. with tons of appetizers and finger foods. Best Wishes!
