I know he is older but he is also pretty decent and I bet not very expensive. Just exploring the options here since it seems that any deal for Bay is over, with the Pirates wanting the Franklin mint and the Indians not putting that much value on Bay who is coming off knee problems and a bad year. Thoughts on Taguchi or who can fill in decently at LF? J-Mike does not cut it, Dellucci certainly does not cut it, Shin Soo Choo is a question mark...etc.
here is the lowdown on Taguchi

don't you think Bay was salivating at the chance to get out of Pittsburgh and onto a winning franchise? Conversely, Cliff Lee and others named as possible players to go to Pittsburgh must be at least a tad bit unhappy. I know I would be.

Taguchi is a great bench player. You need guys like him to win. Ask the Cardinals. If it wasn't for him they wouldn't have won the WS in 06. You could get him for under 1million a year. The Cards paid him 1million last year.

Cliff Lee was sent to the minors late in the season due to be so ineffective and his only upside is being a left-hander, which will keep him in the league a year or two longer than his talent demonstrates.

Taguchi is yet another platoon OF situation and Cleveland needs to solidify three outfielders as starters & not have two or three players try and equal the output of one solid performer.

The posturing this time of the year on possible deals is always amusing and a deal for Bay may yet be worked out, though all young pitchers for Clevo should be off the table. The fallback plan could find Blake back in the OF, Cabrera to 3B and Barfield at 2B.

Am I the only idiot that thought the Mayor Kenny brought an element of leadership and hustle that pushed them over the edge and to a position the Tribe havent found themselves in a while ... winning post season games. Honestly Shapiro is ticking me off sitting on his hands while the Tigers keep on gearing up to kick our butts. What would it have taken to land that deal. Miller, Fransisco, Marte, Lee, Laffey and Sowers. OK ... you can have em for those two guys. When will we ever learn?

Both michaels and deluchi are better, and with choo, ben fransico, and guitierez they dont need to shop for an outfielder unless they get a great deal

I don't know why the hell my Cardinals released him. They should have started him more than they did considering his balance of defensive and offensive ability. I would say any team looking to pick him up is going to get a deal.

YOU are exploring options? why? do you work for the front office of the Indians? Why would you explore anything? you have ZERO effect on anything they do. Here's a thought, why not sit back, and let the actual members of the indians staff make the decisions, and you can watch it on the news?
Or perhaps get a hobby, one where you don't have to speculate on formulating answers for decisions that you're not even going to make!
