On a P&S question, an answer is based on people's opinions. There's never a wrong opinion. I think I have stalker haters. A person can ask, "Do you like hamburgers?" & if you say yes, people give you thumbs down, & even if you say no. I think people treat P&S like a popularity contest.

of direction they do! with the aid of fact, surley someplace in the bible, it is written that a thumbs down, in the eyes of "god" is a significant sin- and you're ceaselessly damned to hellfire! it is why I looove thumbing them down! It places a grin on my face too!

I think it's because some people don't like one word answers they like explainations. Which is why when I ask question like that i say give an explaination. But if you don't ask them to why should they??? And as for popularity I don't know I like to answer in smaller catergories cuz people don't give alot of attention to many catergories except certain ones and I try to be diverse.

I could never understand that. Not only in P&S, but in any question that asks for opinions. That thumbs-down fairy strikes all over the place. I usually give everyone who answers my questions a thumbs up...if it's totally bad (like IDK), I just won't give it a thumbs-up...but I don't give it a thumbs-down.

i asked a question similar to that yesterday and i noticed that people will give u thumbs down for stupid reasons. I think there are answer stalkers too they just follow all of your questions maybe because u didn't answer one of theirs the way that they thought u should have, and then they just go to all your answers and give u thumbs down. I say screw 'em f'ing haters!
And they're doing it right now! SCREW U LITTLE TROLLIES!

It makes them think they are counter answering. Way to go Bianca...wonder how it felt? Now you know. I do not thumb down and I always thumb up.

People do treat it like a popularity contest and it's sad.
I got a thumbs down for answering the question "did you ever ride a snowmobile" and I answered yes and got a thumbs down from another poster who always gives me one no matter what I answer with.....it's just sad.
Watch, I'll probably get one for this one too....Oh well!

Too true, and it's not restricted to p&s answers. I find it incredibly irritating that someone can give you a thumbs down for merely trying to help, or giving your opinion when asked. I've started to edit my answers now if people do it to me because it's just so RUDE!

I was thinking the same thing. Like is it snowing where you live? You say no and get a thumbs down.... What, thats insane how can you get a thumbs down.
