DON'T do it. I speak from experience. Obviously you know it's bad for your health, your complexion, your teeth. It's horribly expensive and hard to quit. We've spent truck loads of money trying. The only way we've found that works was prescription med that's really expensive and not covered by most insurances. You also have to be on it for 3 months! I stopped it early and ended up smoking again. I'm getting ready to quit...again. Save yourself the trouble and don't start.

Well that is not good! My mom started smoking and within a matter of 3 months she developed a cancer in one of her lungs and they had to remove it. She can not walk 2 steps without being completely out of breathe. And if she can't get a donor in, they say she doesn't have long to live. And if you missed the second sentence, this happened just 3 months into her smoking! It has destroyed our family! And if your talking about smoking "ciggaWEED" then that is also a very crazy idea! My friend thought it had no effect on him, "just getting high" well he had a very successful job and got tested and failed! Then his big money life style he was living got cut big time. He went to living in a 3 story house to living in a 3 bedroom project. Now he can't get a good job like he had because all of the businesses now why he was fired and won't hire him. And to "ease his pain" he went out and started smoking again, and ended up in jail, with his 3 kids watching! It turned it life around and its hard for him to do better now. Think before you fall into peer pressure b/c it's so not worth it!

Lots of passionate comments against smoking.
Just to be fair, I will say that there is a small (but significant) percentage of people who use many drugs recreationally but never get addicted (tried to find where I read this, but failed... maybe someone else can find an article).
I smoke on average a cigarette every two weeks.... have for years.
I do have potential to become addicted, but I don't because I have never (not once) let myself buy a pack. That's a line I will never cross, no matter how drunk I am. I'm always bumming... of course, buying drinks for people in return.
Even one cig every two weeks probably isn't good for me, but hey... just thought I'd give you a different viewpoint than everyone else. :)

Not a very good idea. It is highly addictive and can cause serious health problems. I have been a smoker for about 15 yrs now. It is not something I can easily quit, and I have tried a few times. They put addititves in the ciggarette that make you crave it all the time. It is not cool. Your hair smells bad, your clothes smell bad, your mouth feels like an ashtray. Your teeth turn colors, and your fingers will turn yellow also. Taking it from somebody that is trying to quit , never start.

Wondering about what? Starting? Don't do it! It's a disgusting habit, expensive, bad for your health & those around you, no longer "cool", and hard to quit when you finally realize you want to. Do you really want to waste money that could be put on a downpayment for a house, car or vacation, just to stand outside by yourself smoking because it is or will be banned inside?
P.S. My aunt smoked, uncle never did, he died of lung cancer from 2nd hand smoke, she quit after he died. Wouldn't want to live with that guilt!

just think $3 a pack every day for 365 days a year (most smokers start out with only a half pack a day but they end up smoking a pack a day) that's $1095 a year not including the heath risks in other words
DON'T DO IT

Don't smoke, it's very expensive and very bad for your health and the health of people around you when would smoke.
Most people do not find it "cool" anymore either. Not a good habit to start and once you start it can be incredibly hard to stop.

I could make car payments with what they cost and they will keep going up.. Go to a store that sells tobacco and look at the skin of the people going in and out. If that doesn't tell you not to then think about going outside when it's cold to smoke and your breath, the smell of your car and house and your hair. I could go on and on.. By the way I'm hooked and hate it. They gave us cigarettes in our rations in the Army... early 70's

DO NOT DO IT!!! People who smoke once can get addicted to it and smoke 4 years and develop lung cancer. Even if u don't get lung cancer, u could cause someone else 2 develop lung cancer- someone who hasn't smoked one cigarette in their life. Ur an adult now, but if u start, u will either risk ur life, someone elses life, or both.

Don't do it!!! I started smoking 22 years ago, and am still trying to quit. It has affected my breathing, my eyesight, and who knows what else.
I know it's probably tempting (the old curiousity factor), but try not to start smoking...it's expensive, many people find it offensive, and it causes health problems.
