I have heard many stories of how this lovely African nation is in meltdown, but I have also heard stories of how prosperous it was in the late 70s and early 80s, before the effects of Mugabe started being felt.

It was the most beautiful country and the majority of the people were happy, I lived there for 5 years before this thug took over , it had prosperity which everybody shared in and the security was great, then politics screwed everything up and you now have a destitute people and a very rich goverment. The people of Zimbabwe believe in a little chap called "Tokalosh" I just wish he would visit Mugabe.

Once described as the Breadbasket of Africa,it is now the Basket Case of Africa. This was a prosperous Country under Ian Smith where all citizens were fed, there were jobs and Aricans were regarded as being the best educated in Africa. Sold down the tubes by that pipe smoking Marxist,Harold Wilson, it was turned over to yet another African Despot Robber Mugabe and it is now a complete s hithole. In the not too distant future you will be reading the same stories about South Africa as it is well on the road to being the next Zimbabwe under Communist rule. You can read all about it here: http://www.southafricasucks.blogspot.com

I lived in Zimbabwe for many years and it was truly a beautiful and prosperous country. You could say that : "We had it all" including the best education next to South Africa. Life and the country was extremely beautiful and rich. I will always hold the memories of Rhodesia and early Zimbabwe, close to my heart. If you want to have a look at what it was, google Air Zimbabwe videos and watch: The Best of Zimbabwe.

It was one of the richest countries in Africa, exported many raw materials, they had many deep gold mines, net exporter of food. Sure Ian Smith ran a apartheid government, but the country had security for its people and all enjoyed relative prosperity. Left on their own they would have worked things out, but through international meddling Mughabe came into power and here we are. Interestingly the international community is showing no outrage at hundreds of thousands of people starved and killed. I fear South Africa is following the same path.

It was wonderful, I was born in Bulawayo unfortunately its run by a complete tyrant now who doesnt give a damn about his own people. It doesnt have any assets now as it once did therefore other nations are just turning a blind eye, if it had oil or diamonds like Sierra leone there would be a mad dash to get rid of the tyrant
