The minus sign between the two parentheses would get "distributed" to everything inside:

(3a + 4b - c) - (6a - 2b + c)

This is the same as:
(3a + 4b - c) - (6a) - (-2b) - (c)

Whenever you have a subtraction of a negative, that's the same as adding the positive. Two minus signs become a + sign.

(3a + 4b - c) - 6a + 2b - c

Now just remove the parentheses in front and group like terms:
3a + 4b - c - 6a + 2b - c

Keep the signs with each term, notice the -c especially:
(3a - 6a) + (4b + 2b) + (-c - c)

Simplify each pair of terms:
-3a + 6b + (-2c)

Adding -2c is the same as subtracting 2c:
-3a + 6b - 2c

If you plase 1(3a + 4b - c) -1 (6a - 2b + c) in front of each ( then it multiply 1 get =3a +4b - c -6a +2b -c
then combine = 3a-6a +4b +2b -c -c
= -3a+6b-2c
(- *-) =+
(- *+)= -

the answer will be -3a+6b-2c

for -(6a-2b+c) you times everything by -1 so it will be -6a+2b-c.

you add and subtract like terms so you do -6a +3a, 2b+4b, and -c-c.

and that will give you the answer.
