I don't know how to start this essay..

Task: Relationships with those we care about most rarely run smoothly. The lines between love and hate or laughter and sadness can be very thin. Write vividly about a relationship with someone close to you using anecdotes and vivid description to show the different emotions that exist between you.

The very fact that you care very deeply about someone makes if easy for that person to hurt or offend you, because behavior that you could shrug off in someone else really matters in those you care about. Then many people resent those they love because of the hold those people have over them.

As for the parent-child relationship, children hurt their parents, first because it takes children a while to realize that other people have feelings and then because they're striving to become individuals in their own right; and parents in turn often take a while to realize and accept that their chilldren ARE unique individuals and not just extensions of themselves, and thus are often hurt and angry when their children don't fulfill the parents' expectations. Again, the behavior that upsets people in their own parents or children does so because these people matter so much to them.

Finally, of course, there's that painful mixture of love and hate that one feels for the lover or spouse who has deprived one of him- or herself.

How about a boyfriend? You could start it off by saying this:

When I had my first relationship with a boyfriend, I found out about emotions and feelings that I never knew existed....
then take it away from there...
Or you could write about your relationship with your mother....you could start it out something like this:
My mother and I have a strong emotional bond, unlike any other person that I know...she has taught me how to love and how to deal with life in many ways that no other person can.....
and then take it away from there.....

I hope this helps....

Anytime someone forms a relationship with another it is one's goal to keep it as positive as possible. This however can be quite difficult. In this paper I will aim to identify the thin borders we as humans tread between positive, negative, and neutral happenings when dealing with relationships.

Sound good?
If you don't like it, at least there's some ideas.

You're probably too young to have a solid romantic relationship so you will need to write about a family member or a best friend. One answer was "I love my mother but..." which is good. Another could be "My little sister is a pain you-know-where but no one can pick on her but me!" Or, "My best friend stood me up last night because she got a last minute date with a new guy. Oooooo, she makes me so MAD! But I can't wait to find out about her date!"

I would include the Shakespeare quote "The path of true love never did run smooth"
