This question came up when I was going through another question.

Are you turned off by women who make more money than you, women who don't hesitate to tell you her opinions on things, wmoen who can hold their own in an intellectual debate? Or is this something that turns you on?

Er...Ms. Linah, clearly you have me mistaken for someone else. I've never wasted my time e-mailing anyone on yahoo answers, much less the likes of you. Please go find someone else to annoy with your blazing capital letters.

$0.02 - That kind of attitude is so sexy on a man.

I love a man who loves a woman who is strong - mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually - and loves to nurture her man's soul.

Sorta?

It's hard to say... I like a woman with a sense of humor...

To be honest, I think my gf makes more than I do, money has never been an issue...

And she's certainly opinionated... very opinionated :)

Those things aren't what attracted me to her tho... then again they're certainly not turn-offs either. So I guess they're less important to me than the whole person?

Never met an intellectual equal tho, what's that like?

I don't like assertiveness on anybody, regardless of gender. Therefore I must answer: No, I'm not attacted to assertive woman.
Succesful? What's success? A mother proud of her kids? That's success. A university student with good marks? That's success. Success in life got nothing to do with money.

Im not turned off by a woman that makes more money than me. But I am turned off by women who think I care. Its just annoying when a woman repeatedly asks "does it bother you that I make more money than you?" enough already.

I dont like bossy chicks either. I have a momma already. I dont need another one.

But I love, absolutely love a woman that can hold her own in an intellectual debate. But on that note. I consider myself a big man. If you prove me wrong, I will say Im wrong.
I dont think it is wrong to acquiesce. But I dont like women who obnoxiously celebrate just because they are right and Im wrong.

edit: Jay - OMG passive-agressive!!! = crazy

Yeah sure. Why not? I don't want to be with a stupid woman? I want a woman to challenge my thinking so that I can improve myself. But I don't want to argue for the sake of arguing just to prove that I'm right or how smart I am. I find that to not be very sincere and not a very healthy relationship.

My wife is the main bread winner, I have no problems with that.

It does neither, i.e. it is not a turn on or off. I certainly would prefer a mate that could hold her own in a conversation, the money part is a non issue. Their attitude towards sex is more related to whether they are a turn on or off.

I think men should be, rather than having women who are shy and cant make decisions until they run it be their husbands. You would trust your child with an assertive mom, because she will do what's best for her kid and fight for her kid; I cant say the same for a woman who is of the opposite personality.

i've always prefered women who voice their opinions, in a relationship i need an equal not a submissive or god help me a passive-agressive. whether or not she makes more money is neither here nor there with me, right now i work freelance so my pay is always going up and down so i'm certain if my wife was pumping gas she have a pay that beats mine from time to time

no...but i'm turned off by women who categorize themselves like that. i know MANY MEN AND WOMEN who believe themselves to be fiercely intellectual....and are really just loudmouths who know what they want.

but, to humor your question: yes...when i see a powerful woman who is the complete package, nothing is sexier.

and for me, i'd love it if she made more $$ than me. though i'm a musician/teacher. that's NOT hard to do! lol
