It's the NAACP. I thought you were talking about college athletics for a minute.

There is no law which says that racism is illegal. While I despise racism, worse still would be a government which has the power to tell us what we can think.

And I despise the NAACP, because I believe it's a racist organization. So is the Ku Klux Klan, which I also despise, but both have the right to exist.

"I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend, with my life, your right to say it."

"Organizations that searve one race is illegle, so why does the organization still exist?"

Because it's not illegal - your understanding of the law is wrong.

It's perfectly legal to set up an oraganization specifically to serve only one race - the Ku Klux Klan, for example, is a legal organization.

BUT.... If the NAACP had a vacancy for a secretary in their offices, and refused to hire someone because they weren't black, THAT would be illegal, because discriminating on the grounds of race is illegal IN AN EMPLOYMENT SETTING.

Wow. So much ignorance in one question. First of all, it's the NAACP. They exist because regardless of the laws, racism is still a big problem in this country. Ask any African-American if you have doubts. And there are no laws prohibiting organizations based on race. The KKK is still alive and well if you're looking for a group to join.

No it is not fair. If EVERTHING was equal, then maybe there would be less tension among the races. I read an article in New York magazine saying that.
