I think the name is okay, and I suggest if you are going to use it, stick with the original spelling Ashton. Changing the spelling of a name does not make it any more unique, it only makes people constantly misspell it.

I went to school with a girl named Ashton, so I've always found it very feminine sounding. I know most people don't. Most people associate it with Ashton Kutcher, the actor. It's not a horrible association, but not great either. If you use it, definitely spell it Ashton. Ashtyn look feminine, and all the others (Ashtan, Ashten, Ashtin, Ashtun) look wrong. Ashtan sounds like a color description, Ashtin is a trashcan for ashes, and Ashten and Ashtun are just silly.

Ashton is not a name I'd choose but spelling it any other way may seem feminine. (Ashtyn, Ashtin, Ashten) :(

I actually LOVE the name and longgggg before Ashton Kutcher was even thought of. I think it is an excellent choice for a baby boy. Pair it with a strong middle name for a well balanced name when he gets older. Congrats & Happy Holidays!!
P.S. Don't get crazy with the spelling. Keep it classic & simple.... Ashton. Perfect :)

I love that name for a boy! Ashton is how I'd write it, any other way and it looks weird. Besides, the most common spelling makes life easier for the child. My name is Randi, everyone called me Brandi, got some cards and certificates with Brandi cause they couldn't really comprehend that my name was Randi. And when they actually get that it is Randi, they spell it with a y instead of an i.

Ashton for a boy is a great name.
Who cares if one famous person has the name! Are we "normal" people not aloud to use a name that a celebrity has? There are many famous people with names that are used everyday without people thinking of the celebrity with the name. When you see Jennifer do you think of all the famous Jennifer....
Use the name that you love and feel is best for your baby not because someone will relate them to a celebrity.

I love the name!!! I also like Asher. I think to spell it any other way than "Ashton" the original spelling, takes alot away from the name.

Ashton would be great :) I think you've covered the different ways to spell it. I like the normal way best. Some kids have very strange spellings & they get very upset that everyone either mispronounces or misspells their name (my husband is a teacher).

I know a few boys named Ashton. I've never seen it spelled any other way. It isn't really my favorite name, but it does grow on you. I haven't ever seen any girls with this name, so when I hear it I definitely think it is a boy's name.
