My son loved his exersaucer, he could spend all day in it if I let him. He didn't care much for the jumperoo though. If you're afraid he'll grow out of it you could get a play-yard instead. They have pretty big ones now and you can put a bunch of toys in there and know she's safe so you can get stuff done. It's probably better for her than an exersaucer. My doctor said those can delay walking. I used to put my son in a play-yard once he got used to being able to crawl around the house freely he wouldn't let me put him back in.

At her age I'd probably go with a jumper over an exersaucer, that is if she's really active. At 8 months my son was pretty much done with his exersaucer. He always wanted to be moving and doing something. Check the weight limit on the jumpers though. I can't remember what it is.

I would go with a Jolly Jumper. Evenflo has a relly nice one for about $30. My daughter and son poth played in thiers until about 16 months. I also have an exersuacer, but at the cost of them I wouldn't if I hadn't saved it from last time...it was the only baby thing I had left when I found out I was prergnant. I wouldn't have got another one, I actually got this as a gift.

Neither is going to be good for long, if at all. I'd stick to second hand stores or see if you can borrow something from someone.

I'm actually reasonably sure 25lbs was the weight limit on my jumper. I only used it for 2 months and I started at 6 months. My son was 26lbs at 8 months. He was only 27 lbs at 18 months, once they start walking look out!

Don't they make those little walkers anymore? You know, they have a little table at the front with a cloth seat that keeps them up and rollers on the bottome so they can move around? I think that would be great. Even when she gets a little bigger she can practice walking in it and for now she can just sit in it. Give her some wooden blocks to play with and she'll be good.
You're right. They do outgrow those toys quickly and yes, we all end up spending a bunch on toys for them in the first years. I still say plain old wooden blocks are the best. Kids love them and they can be very creative with them. Even at her tender age.
Have fun!

Once Upon a Child, or another childs consignement, resale store in your area. They're not like a goodwill. They often have great baby stuff, very gently used, for a fraction of the price.

I sound like an ad.
But am kicking myself for buying a new one of those, when they had great ones there. Just check the parts.

At that age put my so on my back in the Ergo and did chores. That way I could take things up and down stairs and not have to take him out of a seat or anything. He really enjoyed getting to see things from an adult perspective and being close to me.

I am a bit wary of products that cause a baby to prematurely support themselves on outstretched legs, or dangle the by their crotches.
