The PS3's online service is free and it doesn't cost anything to play online. As long as you already have an internet provider, the online is free.

yes the the online is free, but the content on there will cost you money to buy, and you will also need high speed internet connection to go online.
there also the xbox 360 services which has free silver on line member ship that you can download free movie trailers, free demos, a few background themes, gamer pictures, free game videos, and some music videos all for free. they also have purchase content like special background themes and pictures as well as tv shows, movies and tons of arcade titles new and old. they have point system 80 points for 1 dollar. you can buy points at any store and redeem them on line to use as your will or you can use your card online to purchase them.,
they also have a gold service that allows you to play online

It iz free well if u hav wifi in ur house it should work i have 1 n it connect 2 my wifi network. If u dont but have broadband buy a wifi box they are like 40 quid
