Hello. I need to sue a company for religious descrimination. I am not familiar with how it all works, so I am really lost.

How do I know which lawyer to pick?
Do I need a lawyer?
Where do I begin?

Thanks

Meijers does not carry Menorahs, or any jewish goods.

They say "They dont carry specific religious items near the holidays"

I was told this in front of a 4 foot golden statue of baby Jesus.

talk to a lawyer who specialize in employment law to see even if you have a case, most likely the complaint is going to be to technical for you to write, where not talking small claims but full out civil litigation

OK if you did not work for the company then you are going to have to have some type of nexus or harm caused by the company policy, its called standing and I am not sure you even have it if you did not work or where harm by the company actions

Why do you want to sue them??? Just feel like sueing someone today, or do you have a ligitimate reason??
That's the first step.
You can call the county bar association and ask them to refer you to someone.
You schedule an appointment and have a consultation, and it proceeds from there. Do be prepared to pay a retainer. Lawyers usually ask for one up front, and it could amount to $ 1000.00 or more. Then, you let the lawyer do the work.

You don't say what country you are in, but in most western countries, such as the US, discrimination on religious grounds is only illegal in an employment setting, and not even always then.

What was it that you think is illegal discrimination? If you give more detail in your question, you'll get better answers.
