The most amazing thing is, remember that you can find a surprising lot (really!) by going to the Google search bar and typing in a normal sentence in English (or your language). That's one way.
An even better way is to learn the specialized Google searches: http://www.google.com/help/cheatsheet.html
Learn a few forums for your specialized interests, and join them. READ them before asking questions. Learn carefully. Realize that, everything you need to find, probably all human knowledge? is out there, lurking, waiting for you to find it.

Yes just now I watched a segment on yahoo news about the coast guard and drug busts that are up this year. ANd I use wikipedia
