This might sound a little strange, but can you cry in your sleep for real? No just dreaming that you're crying, but actually crying. It was just the other night I had a dream and I was lying in my bed after a really crap day (in the dream...) and the next thing I woke up crying. It was really weird. Annoying thing is I don't think it was fake - I actually think I did wake up and was crying just like I had been in the dream. Either that or the whole thing was real. I couldn't tell :|

But yeah, my main question is - can you cry in your sleep for real? (so if you woke up you'd still be crying...)

Hope that makes sense :)

After my father died (he died at home after a long battle with cancer) I woke up crying many times and had been dreaming of crying. Tears on my face.
Not only that, I was pregnant at the time my father died, and the baby was born two months later.
Her first year of ife, she would wake up crying. Yes I know. babies cry. But this was my fourth baby and it was very different.
I believe that she was affected in untero by the grief I had to deal with.

Yes, it's possible. It has happened to me once. I had a dream that my husband died, and I was grieving in my dream. I woke up still crying, and calling out for my husband. For weeks afterward I was afraid he was going to die (I've often dreamt things that have come true).

Yes, it has happened to me before.
I had a horrible nightmare about my brother dying, the next thing I knew I woke up screaming the house down and wet soggy cheeks from all the tears.

yes you can and the problems can be Research shows that teens need 8½ to more than 9 hours of sleep a night. You don't need to be a math whiz to figure out that if you wake up for school at 6:00 AM, you'd have to go to bed at 9:00 PM to reach the 9-hour mark. Studies have found that many teens, like Garrett, have trouble falling asleep that early, though. It's not because they don't want to sleep. It's because their brains naturally work on later schedules and aren't ready for bed.

My initial gut reaction is yes.. but there are SOME things your body shuts down while you sleep.. and I haven't studied what it does and doesn't shut down enough to give you anything more than my initial gut reaction.
