hi there,
I had a hidden folder saved within a folder on my computer and someone deleted the folder that I saved it in [not the hidden one]. Is there anyway that I can find the hidden folder? I'm sorry if it's kinda confusing.

I understand what you're saying, unfortunately I think you're out of luck. :( If the folder that your folder was within has been deleted, Windows will have deleted everything "beneath" it as well. There is no place it would have moved it to or anything like that... Your only real hope is the recycle bin, but if it's empty you can't find the files.

A small hope is utilities that "undelete" deleted files, these do have a chance of working, especially if you haven't done much since the folder was deleted. The way it works is when a file is deleted, it does not actually get deleted on the hard drive, the space the file sits in is just marked as "usable". The old data remains on the drive however until something new needs space and uses the space the file sat in. This is how "undelete" software can scan your hard drive for files in this state of limbo and bring them back. Good luck!

If the folder is not in the REcycle bin, it may have 'accidentally' been moved. Sometimes when we are clicking around in a hurry, we can actually pick up and move files and folders without realizing it. Windows is quite unforgiving in this mistake and may think you are trying to drop a file or folder on top of another. If so, Windows will merely move the file or folder into this neighboring folder.

Look in the neighboring folders for your 'deleted folder'. When you find it, click ONCE to highlight, Click Edit - CUT. Then back out of the folder you are in, and click Edit - Paste. This will return the folder to it's rightful place.
