Sushi Mambo in Napa, CA. We were the only ones in there since we arrived right at opening. You'd think that would make for good service. No. We got seated, water wasn't brought right away, and then it was just dropped off without asking for drink orders. Finally she showed back up and we ordered our drinks and food. (Him, a steak. Me, sushi.) Someone dropped off bread, but we still didn't have anything to wash it down with. Then he got his salad and the drinks finally arrived (2 beers is not hard). I nibbled on the bread and picked at his salad. The waitress was nowhere in sight. Finally I got her to bring us water when she brought his steak. No sushi for me. "Oh, it'll be right out!" So he gave me his salad and I kept eating the bread. People started coming in, were seated got drinks, got their food, and I still didn't have my sushi. After a good hour+ there, I had to flag the waitress down and say "Just box it up, we need to leave." "Oh no, it'll be right out!" I repeated "PLEASE box it up!" She brought it out on a plate! I pointed out that my husband was done, and we had to go. BOX IT UP!" So we get to the hostess and politely complained and she said there was nothing she could do. So we paid the full bill and only left $1 tip. We will never go back there.

Years ago, I went to a Denny's with a friend, in the wee small hours of the morning. There were maybe 5 tables sat, and two waitresses. The first one acted as hostess and sat us along the main aisle of the tables, and....well, that was pretty much that. The other waitress never did drop by, we didn't see the first one again, and there we sat.

What'd we do about it? We were bored anyway, and wound up making a game of it, seeing how long we could go before anybody took care of us. We made it through three different turnings of tables, and a shift change in waitstaff. We sat there for four (4) hours! Eventually, my friend had to get home before her parents woke up, and we made our departure. We didn't tip very well, and the hostess wished us a pleasant morning on the way out.

Went to the Rainforest Cafe inside the South Coast Plaza Mall in Orange County. They sat us at a little table next to an animated elephant. The table kinda stuck out there, like it was an afterthought, so waiters and customers kept bumping into us as they walked by. We waited about 20 minutes until our waitress came over to take our orders. During this time, their little rainforest show came on a few times, and the animated elephant shot out that fake smoke out the trunk. It was fun at first, but then got so annoying that we couldn't hold a conversation because it was so loud.

After 50 minutes (I was keeping track of time by then...) our orders still hadn't shown up, and I flagged down the waitress to just forget out orders, but she said it was coming out in a mintue. We received our food cold. I think they waited until all of our entrees were ready before serving them.

We had to wait about 20 minutes until we found our waitess again and flagged her down. We told her the food was cold, and she offered to warm it up for us. We said no, since we didn't want microwaved food. We paid and left.

Ponderosa, the food was good but the waittress was horrible so I left a "tip" on a piece of paper...it said "Don't have any kids." And then I left a penny, because my man insisted that the worst tip ever is just getting a penny. Yeah the note was mean, but she shouldn't pass on her stupidity.

Some friends and I were at a burger place in NC. A staff member was coming out of the bathroom as my friend went in. It smelled awful, she must have had a big poo, and the hand basin was perfectly dry. In fact the staff member was arranging her clothing when she came out, obviously didn't wash her hands. She then went back and started cooking. We called head ofice, it was gross. She got fired.

I was in a popular seafood restaurant with the waitress from hell. She was surly, rude, and not happy to be there. The bill came up to $95.00 and I left her a two dollar tip. I also reported her to the manager.
