There can be meaning IN life, if you engage in love and activity, but I suspect there is no meaning OF life - as in why we're here. I don't think we're here to serve any purpose except possibly the amusement of whoever set up this terrarium. In any event, we can't know so - I vote for getting on with the meaning that we can find IN life.

There is no meaning to life except the huge meaning that living it well brings to each person. There is no meaning that is external to life itself. When you ask, "what is the meaning of that painting?", you are looking for an answer that cannot be found within the painting itself. Most things we ask about concerning meaning always makes a reference beyond the thing being asked. You cannot do that with life. Life contains its meaning within itself.

Reproducing, experienceing human life as it is, developping the world and contributing in some way to others' lives. We, I believe, were put on earth for a reason and so to say that life is meaningless would be...rather silly...
