He'll start in LF, but will most likely end up as the 4th outfielder to make room for Ethier and Kemp. No one will want to touch the contract in return for pitching, the young pitchers being shopped are being shopped so the teams can avoid having to pay them the big contracts they will be due for in the next year or two. If anything he will be moved for a mid-level veteran pitcher.

Juan Pierre is probably the better fielder 'cause Jones is losing his touch, and now that I think about it Jones wasn't good at the plate last year either.

It was already stated that should the Dodgers sign Jones that Pierre would move to left. He will do better in left because he never really had the arm for center field. Also, Pierre has speed and there will be less ground for him to cover compared to being in center.

I don't see this happening but how about a trade with Cleveland - Juan Pierre can play left in Cleveland.

Uh, not because of the fact of those strikes. The NL West blows, so as that they have as solid a shot to win the branch as San Diego does. Pierre is sturdy. Nomar is sooo harm services. nevertheless no enormous bats. Too undesirable Frank Thomas is fat and sluggish, and an AL-DH style of guy. they desire yet another starter and a few center alleviation. (Who does not, yet nevertheless...)

They'll move him to left, but the best thing they could do with him is to move him to another team. It's crazy to have a guy with a .331 OBP and no power seeing playing time ahead of Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier.
I guess it's tough, though, to deal away a $45m contract for a guy who didn't deserve half as much.

I actually suspect that he won't be playing anywhere for the Dodgers, he'll be packaged in a deal for pitching (maybe the A's?) making room for some of the younger outfield prospects.

They will keep him around until midseason (Let Kemp develope a little more in AAA) and then be traded. (Probably to the Yankees)
