You have to work really hard from the moment they are born,always talking to them,playing,reading and so on and by the time they reach three they are lovely.If you ignore your child and dont give it attention it will turn into a brat.

If you are a good parent when they are younger, then your child wont be a brat when they are older. Trust me on this one. I have a girlfriend who's kids are like night and day with my own...

Lol! I agree with Sawtooth - I haven't got any to deal with - but some of these answers sure made me laugh - especially the ice cold shower one, and the lady who grabs them by arm and the butt whuppin answer !

Spank them. Stay consistent.
pick your battles and let them know what is expected.
Make improvements an inch at a time. That way they are less likely to rebel.

I just put him in his room for 5 minutes and close the door so he can calm down. He soon settles.

Hold them under an ice cold shower...that stops their brattiness in a hurry but doesn't hurt them..
