I have read a lot of negativies about this school on the rip off report. I am concerned. I am working on my MS in Special Education. I asked schools before I started if they would hire someone who had graduated from UOP. They said they would. Yet all these people are convenced no one would hire someone from UOP. I am curious are there employers out there that would not hire UOP students. If so what type of employers. Also are those who do hire UOP students and if so what type of employers. As an employer let me know what's your business and why or why not you would or would not hire a UOP student. I really want to know. Thanks!

You're in education, and that's entirely different. From my knowledge, far more school systems are accepting of MS degrees from U of Phoenix than are employers in the corporate world. From what I know, many schools are fine with U of P master's degrees in education. If the schools where you want to work are fine with this degree, then don't stress about it. I believe (double check this!) that U of P masters degrees in education are appropriately accredited.

It's different in the corporate world. Many corporations refuse to hire U of P graduates because the school has a bad reputation in this world. In addition, many U of P master's degrees - their MBA is one example - are not appropriately accredited.

But again, from conversations with those in the K-12 education field, U of P masters degrees tend to be acceptable. If they are acceptable where you work, then you're good.

if they don't ask you where you graduate you are safe

Phoenix is not well respected but some degrees do hold some weight in today's world of long distance education.

Accounting and business can be done on line, but not chemistry, engineering, nursing or phsychology

Univ of Phoenix is not accredit through the same boards as most college and in some instances gets less weight than a community college

If you have a BA from Phoenix don't expect UCLA Grad School to take you, they will probably not accept the U PH degree
