My Pastor told us that liberals hate Bush because he's a Christian. He told us that liberals don't like nobody that's got faith in the Lord. It actually makes me a little sad, thinking about how liberals are always trying to bring down this Christian Nation :-(

I think it's very sad that your pastor chooses to teach hate, rather than love, under the guise of Christianity. I was taught about God's love and that Faith is born, not of words, but of deeds. I can't speak for all liberals but my problem with Bush is due to him saying that he's a Christian, but his deeds say otherwise:
** A true Christian would not condone the torture of another human being if the principle of "do unto others" was truly in their heart.

** A true Christian would NOT have invaded Iraq and beat the drums of war against Iran if the "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" Commandment was in their heart.

About the US being a Christian nation... Wrong.
One of the founding principles of the US is freedom of religion which means that the US is a secular, not a theocratic (state-sanctioned) nation. This concept is clearly outlined in the US Constitution, as a First Amendment right:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
-- US Constitution and Bill of Rights:

Therefore the US is a secular, not a theocratic, nation.

announcing Bush is Christian is like calling Rev. Jesse Jackson a Caucasian. in basic terms because of the fact a infant-kisser SAYS he's a Christian would not make it so. Bush has lied approximately tremendously plenty each little thing he's finished in workplace. He would not have faith that we "progressed" from a team of stupid monkeys? Has he looked in a friggin' replicate these days? he's a stupid monkey? he's incapable of winding up a sentence, he makes up non-existent words in a tragic and desperate attempt to sound sensible, he cheated his way into workplace, he farted around gradually until eventually we've been given attacked with the help of terrorists and then he manipulated a apprehensive u . s . a . into going to conflict against a rustic who... because it seems... isn't harboring terrorists or weapons of mass destruction. precisely which considered one of those movements do you think of replaced into Christian. Bush lied. you're stupid and you believed him. i don't dislike people who're Christians and neither do the different Liberals. We dislike ignorant liars. Why do not you discover ways to think of for your self rather of having your politics from a moron like Pat Robinson. end generalizing us. i don't generalize all Texans as being inbred rednecks with a lager in one hand and their sister's boobs in the different!

As a Christian and a liberal leaning moderate I want your pastor to know that he is dead wrong. I couldn't care less what Bush's religion is. He makes lousey decisions. He is a liar (not very Christian), incompetent, corrupt, arrogant and greedy (also not Christian). But whether Christian or not the mere fact that he does what he does and says what he does makes me dislike his policies and how he does his job. I don't hate him at all. Hate is not a Christian trait and I am a Christian.

Your pastor isn't very intelligent. It sounds like he is trying to stir up misinformation and hate. If Bush really WAS a Christian, he wouldn't be so deceptive and we wouldn't be in this war. So to answer your question, I might like Bush better if he actually ACTED like a Christian instead of just merely claiming to be one.

do your math, genius:

if, as you Christians are always claiming, the population of the US is somewhere between 80-90 percent Christian, yet the elections are pretty much split down the middle...

there must be quite a few liberal Christians.

tell your ignorant, bigoted pastor that Jesus was the ORIGINAL liberal.

***YOU DESPERATELY NEED A NEW PASTOR!***
Wow! ...That's a shame.

Anyway, I am a Christian. I am also a liberal. I don't like Bush because of his horrible choices and terrible leadership, NOT because he claims to be a Christian. If he acted anything like how Jesus acted (I think I heard somewhere that He was the example for Christians to follow...), he'd have a lot more supporters in the U.S., I think. Not because he'd actually act like (or be) a Christian, but because acting like a Christian would stop him from causing devastation throughout our country and others.

Your pastor is deluded by Rush, Hannity and Ann Coulter. I don't like Bush because he got us involved in an endless war in the Middle East that we should never have started.

BTW, this is not just a Christian nation. The separtion of church and state is getting too blurred by Pastors such as yours who are preaching politics from the pulpit. That is wrong.

If you Pastor is speaking politics from the pulpit he should loose his tax exempt status. My dislike for Bush has nothing to do with his religious beliefs. We are not a Christian Nation!

Factually speaking the liberals would still hate President Bush regardless of his religion. They disagree with what he stands for.

Your pastor needs to keep quiet. Bush has subverted the Constitution, what in the world does that have to do with his Christianity? In fact, He has subverted Christ's message as well; care for the poor and the sick. I don't hate Bush but I do hate what he has done to this country.
