So Mitt Romney has the endorsement of Bob Jones, from the beloved Bob Jones University.

How exciting! Curiously, has anyone from the Romney camp stated an opinion on how Bob Jones University banned interracial dating from their inception until the year 2000?

Of course, not tolerating those "trouble makers" hasn't been too much of a worry for Romney in the past. The doctrine he holds so close to his heart gives him the courage to do so.

1. Why is nobody asking him this directly? Not "do you read the bible?" or "Do you like the bible and puppies sir?", but "Are you pimping for the support of an avowed racist and supporting racist doctrine?"

2. Are you allowed cover for any belief by just stating that "It's my religion?".

3. Why are ANY religious organizations that dabble in politics allowed tax exempt statues? I know in theory they are not, but that seems rather dubious.

Sorry, I'm talking about someone who could actually get elected President of the United States in 2008.

Well, in these United States, there is of course freedom of religion, even if those beliefs are highly disagreeable. I think that people take advantage of this right--*coughmittcough*.
And since this is in fact a touchy issue, I think people are afraid to ask the questions that do need to be asked. It isn't a perfect world and it NEVER will be but you're very correct in asking these questions. They need to be opened up for discussion. Especially with Mitt himself.

Why would you attribute a policy of Bob Jones University to Romney? Perhaps this label would better be attached to Huckabee, a conservative evangelist. Bob Jones University is anti-mormon:

Bob Jones Reposts Mormon, Catholic 'Cult' Reference
School president says fundamentalist university has not altered its 'commitment to its biblical principles'

COLUMBIA, S.C., March 16 (AP)--The president of Bob Jones University has reposted statements on the fundamentalist school's Web site calling Catholicism and Mormonism cults.

Just one of many erroneous beliefs attributed to the Mormon church.

Well, to answer your prime question - because many of his purported beliefs, as sampled by questions and answers here, are untrue and slander. Some really stupid beliefs are put forward as "secret" beliefs of Mormons, which if denied are pointed to as "why does he lie about what are known as secret beliefs"
If Bob Jones dropped the requirement in 2000, why are you, seven years later, still blaming Mitt as going along with it?

I don't think his beliefs are any scarier than most of the candidates... they're all pretty scary. Anybody who's going to make presidential decisions based on what they think the invisible man who lives in the sky wants has no business leading a nation.

that's Unconstitutional to ask non secular questions whilst it concerns somebody going on of work. in my opinion, i do no longer think of faith could desire to be an argument whilst it includes politics. #3. they could desire to have their tax exempt status bumped off thoroughly in the event that they are caught doing those products. non secular institutes ought to maintain their noses out of politics.

Funny, no one has difficulty with Harry Reid beliefs, and he's a Mormon, too.
