No. I've known plenty of fools who can't seem to stop running at the mouth and plenty of wise and content people who don't seem to have that problem.

I'd rather say that the quietest people are the deepest thinkers, which to others only seems like the person is troubled.

Although granted as a kid i did spend a helluva lot of time thinking about things that technically should have troubled me, if i wasn't too busy trying to figure out how things would end up.

If you consider thinking to be troubling, then i guess you could say that your leading question is true.

of course not - people aren't that simple but generalizations are. If it were true, movie stars would be the mentally healthiest and the Dalai Lama would be considered a lunatic.

Quiet people are considered introspective - as in:

"He who looks outside, dreams; who looks inward, wakes."

Not really. Many wise and happy people choose not to speak because they don't feel the need to say anything.

I was a VERY quiet kid, and VERY troubled! But...most comedians are troubled, they're not quiet!! Good question!
