From this Military Retiree (and sibling to those still serving) ....

I make sure to say THANKS and to support the missions and volunteer efforts of our Armed Forces (and those left on the homefront too -- especially since I, a Female Long Term Single Parent -- had to leave my own children behind at times too) ...

Now as far as saying THANKS every day -- I DO that for sure -- THANKS for holding the door open when I am carrying in a stack of packages to mail to my family members serving elsewhere .... THANKS for helping me LOAD into my cart the Gorilla Ladder so that I can have the mate to my current one (and thus, be able to set up a platform for my work now!) ... THANKS for being courteous and asking about my health ... THANKS by making sure that I drop into the Salvation Army Bell-Ringer Bins the biggest $ bill I can find in my wallet ... THANKS by donating the EXCESS in the HOME to various Charities and also to shelters for Survivors of Domestic Violence (and yes, I also am a survivor -- from a short disaster of a marriage to an abusive, violent sociopath).

So yes, I DID and DO THANK folks every day -- and make sure that those who are helpful know that I appreciate their efforts.

I say thank you to everyone that deserves it, as should everyone. The last time was about an hour ago, when someone at work did something nice for me without being asked. This happens to me all of the time because I appreciate people and the things that they do.

If I'm siting at the table and my wife ets something down for me , I thank her . If she brings another item , I thank her again .
Tomorrow, I'll be down at the Marine Club Pearl Harbor day remembrance . I'll thank the Marines for the great job they're doing. They in turn will thank me for my service at the time of the attack . We're getting fewer and fewer .
