Fair or not???????

2007-12-06 02:29:45 · update #1

I'm not a Patriots or a Ravens fan, and don't think the NFL or the refs are after anyone. Just heard alot of opinions already, and like to know what people think!

The holding call was pretty obvious, and it could have been called on a couple of different players. Both Watson and Gaffney were held, and two officials threw flags. I officiate football and know that there's holding on nearly every play, but you just don't do it right in front of the refs.

As for the TD, I agree with Donnie. If they'd rule it incomplete initially, I don't think it would been overturned. It was one of those calls where I think they had to stick with the original call, because the visual evidence wasn't overwhelming either way.

No, on no account. First, once you communicate approximately the effects the ravens recieved and inspect the performs they have been ligitimate effects. The Ravens took an suggestions-set that many communities alongside with yet not constrained to new england has taken against communities with risky receivers and thats basicly which you carry them, even address them with the thought refs wont call it each and every play. They have been given referred to as some cases, ignored a lot. I propose heavily there have been performs the place the ravens certainly tackled patriots recievers while they have been going out for his or her routes and did not get referred to as. The Fourth down conserving call, which I even have heard courtroom cases approximately, replaced right into a sturdy call. They have been conserving. yet another criticism I even have heard is that the coordinator not the coach referred to as a timeout on the fourth and a million. human beings have complained that the rule of thumb is the coach, and purely the coach can call timeout. that's technically genuine, although there are 2 problems with the criticism. a million. Refs regularly enable coordinators to call timeouts from the sideline only because of the certainty that the coach can not constantly get the refs' interest. 2. Illegally signalling timeout is a 15 backyard computerized first down penalty for unsportmanlike habit. So if the ref certainly did enforce the rule of thumb it would have labored out extra advantageous for brand spanking new England than in the event that they only permit the coordinator take a timeout. The refs could have ejected Samari(sp) Rolle while he have been given up into their faces and that they could have definately thrown yet another flag in the event that they had to. that would have made the patriots kick the ball off from the 20, and that they might have then only achieved an onside kick, that could are starting to be the ravens right into a worse concern. The refs could have often called Offensive bypass Interference on the hail mary play and didnt. The ravens earned their effects and have been given away with somewhat some, I had some admire for a fashion the Ravens performed till they began complaining a lot with regards to the refs, who have been incredibly extra lenient that pastime than refs ussually are.

Very fair. The holding calls could be seen on the replays with some ease. The turnovers by the Ravens weren't disputable and the timeout called by the defensive coordinator is their own damn fault. The call in the endzone could have gone either way, but even if they ruled against the Pats, it was second down and they were gonna get half the distance to the goal for the penalty, and then half the distance again when that jackass threw the flag into the stands. That would have put them inside the 5 with plenty of time. The Ravens are simply a bunch of whiners.

Its fair. The holding call WAS a holding call. The timeout that saved the Patriots WAS a timeout. The penalty was fair on Bart Scott becuase he DID throw the flag. They think that the play shoulda been reversed. Even if it was reversed and not a touchdown then there woulda been 30 yards worth of penalties and given the Patriots a first down anyway. And adding the yards to the kickoff had nothing to do with it. Chances are his kickoff woulda been a kickoff without the penalties. And the last play where the players got "tackled' in the middle of the pile...the refs probably couldnt see it because from field level all they would see is a massive pile of ppl and can see what happened in he middle. ITS FAIR...BAD CALLS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT YOU DONT REALIZE UNLESS ITS AGAINST YOUR TEAM.

Geez, now I have to see all the ravens fans cry again about the calls. You can blame it on the refs all you want but:
1. The refs didn't cause boller to throw an interception on the goal line.
2. The refs didn't make Reed fumble that football
3. The refs didn't call that timeout on 4th an 1 when they had brady sacked behind the line of scrimmage.

And also, the ravens coming into that game are one of the most penalized teams in the league. Mostly because they act like a bunch of gangsters, on and off the field.

No question was it fair. I think the new strategy to be used by all football teams now against the Patriots is to tackle them before they get the football. Can't catch the ball if you are on the ground. It was fair for the Ravens players for their coach to call that time out or for Scott to get 30 yards of penalties on the same play or Boller throwing that 40 yard completion to Sanders.

I think this question has been covered. Stop crying and move on.

I love how people say the Patriots are cheaters and the NFL wants them to win... If you think they cheated then why would you think the NFL also wants them to win? Wouldn't it be a better conspiracy theory if the Patriots were having all calls go against them in hopes of keeping them down because of the "cheating"?

Just so tired of hearing it. You sound completely foolish when you think the NFL has an agenda and instructs the refs on how to call a game.

Stick to watching soap operas and eating bon bons.

Good calls except for when they let the ASSISTANT coach call a timeout on the sideline during the 4th down play. Also it is not a bad call, but i think the rule should be changed about the Offsides call on the offense. I think the Defense should have a choice on whether or not to accept that penalty and push the opposing team back five yards or if they had stopped them from converting a first down on that play have the choice to decline the penalty.

ok what i dont get is why sooo many people are making a big deal about all these calls on teh ravens, but when the pats fans did the same thing from the colts-pats game, the SAME people who think the pats payed off the referees are the ones who said to stop complaining.

Which one Bollers call to throw that pick late in the game, or Ed Reed's call where he decided to fumble the interception return. Those were the only questionable ones in the game. And I don't even like the Patriots, I'm a Bears fan(sad I know)
