I think he should have slapped the cheeky little $hit.
He has already been interviewed by dibble at home, The youths were chased away numerous times by security as well.
He won't be facing any charges and said he was not going to push the issue of harrassment by them.

Glad someone had the nerves to stand up against yobbish culture.
I work at a brand family fast food restaurant as an assistant manager and in the evenings, we are pestered by children from 10 - 15, who come into our store who purposefully mess around, use crude and racist language, steal and cause havoc, this costs our business more than their business is worth.
I have physically lifted these people out of the store to remove them and in many cases when they become know they are simply removed without being told, if they don't run out on sight of me. It has got to the stage where I have witnessed said offenders come to our door and walk away because I am there. I have been emptily threatened with legal proceedings by some which never materialise.
We use our staff who go to local schools to feed us information on the individuals, and keep a record of names and addresses should we need to pass these to the police. If offenders persist we contact the police with the names. We let the police know any time they visit the store we will call them to file a report, which certainly ensures the police take action.
But if you are going to take action always keep yourself covered, ensure you have witnesses / CCTV, use reasonable force in necessary, stay in control, show no fear. If you feel safer simply call the police.
There is nothing more satisfying than removing these people from our store, and in many cases customers have praised me and my staff for such a proactive approach.

Just goes to show the world's gone mad.
Unless people start standing up to these yobs and the police start backing them up then we will end up living in a society completely ruled by the lowest common denominator.
I'm not that old (!) and I remember a time when people had respect for each other. We would never have dreamt of hassling an adult back then.

its about time the police saw sense, at least they bothered to look into it properly and didnt just charge him with assault as they have been so guilty of before with other people.
youths today can be a real pain, where i live they are becoming worse and now have started vandlaising and spraying graffiti everywhere and i live on the best estate in what was a very nice town, the yobs are making it difficult to even walk round to the local shops now.
it was a risky thing jeremy did, they could quite possibly have stabbed him or kicked him to death but good on him for standing up to them.
lets hope the police do something about these louts. the PCSO's are only making things worse as almost everyone knows they dont have real police powers but the two that patrol round here act like a pair of hitlers, right pair of nasty buggers but that only makes the louts worse.

Because we are all surrounded and "protected" by the P.C of today and more importantly there is no deterrent some of these little people tend to think they can get away with anything, Clarkson is an old man and has old values which we no longer have over here, you only have to look at those paparazzi like vultures running after someone, these I would love to shoot, because they are just scum, You cannot phone the police, cannot hit anyone, cannot do anything about it, and as soon as you act --- look at the trouble it causes

He was right in my opinion, its about time some one stood up to these youths, they think they can walk around and insult anyone they choose because they know the law cant touch them. My son was involved in an incident, he got hit round the head with a baseball bat and didn't even know his own name when he came round, he is still having nightmares, we went to court , this idiot pleaded guilty on a full facts basis which means ALL previous offences were allowed to be heard. The judge let him off. so if Jeremy clarkson wants ten Min's in a room with that thug then go for it Jez.

Well done Jeremy! About time people stood up to these idiots. The police should leave him alone and concentrate on the villians not on someone trying to go about his business whilst being harrassed.

From what I read in the newspaper this morning, I say good for Jeremy. The little toerag tried to have him charged with assault, as they always do. Having looked at CCTV pictures of the incident, the police are not going to take it any further.
A victory for common sense, at long last!
