I have a Mac Mini Solo computer that works pretty well but I want something that has aleast a dual core processor. Im looking at the new Apple laptops and also the new Imac. I like apples designs tenfold than other computer manufacturers however the mac operating system has no basic gaming abilities. How hard is it to install vista or xp on a mac computer, and is it worth 1500 bucks for a mac with vista or something from sony. I'm looking for a high quality build laptop with some good graphics but i like the cheapest possible.

My husband has a mac book pro we paid $2800 but was so worth it! It's the best laptop and he did install Vista on it. Not sure how he did it but was because of gaming & because apple doesn't have anything like "word" for typing papers.

The Mac OS has great gaming capabilities. If not, then I must be halucinating when I play Halo, Doom, Unreal Tournament, Warbirds, Elite Force.... etc.

I would recommend the iMac unless you need portability. Bigger screen for gaming.

NEVER buy a damn thing at WalMart unless you enjoy giving money to the Chinese government.

Get a Macbook Pro. The manner in which you install Vista (ugh!) or XP (better!) is one of these two:
- Install Boot Camp, which means, you can boot Windows, or you can boot MacOSx, but not both...then shut down and reboot the other; or
- Install Parallels or VMware...then boot MACOSx and run Windows as a (heh, heh) window...

However, if you're willing to wait until next spring, there's rumors about that Apple's about to make MacOSx capable of running ALL Windows software...I'm waiting for that! (Pant, pant...)

At any rate, IMHO, MacBook Pro is the way to go, but pricey as heck.

I have a new Dell (work) and a new MacBook Pro (personal). I hate the Dell, even though it has lightening speed. I just prefer the Mac OS. So much better, and superfast too.
