We are going to couples counselling but my husband cannot come to our next appointment. I still want to go. Will the counsellor see me by myself or does my husband have to be there?

Talk to your counselor first, but this maybe a chance for you to speak more openly about your true feelings on the matter.

Why not go alone? What's the difference? Your relationship ended when you got married. Good luck. If you are in counseling it is way over. Get divorced and never get married again.

A good marital counselor will NOT see one of the partners separately as this will create trust issues, which will work against counseling.

My wife & I always see our counselor separately, & only go together every once in a while.
How can you be honest about personal thoughts & feelings with your husband there?
