At 54, I feel like it's all gone by in the blink of an eye. You've probably heard the old joke about life being like a roll of toilet paper ... the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.

When I was 50 I was counting down the years until I could retire. Now I am retired they years are going so quickly I just wish I could put the brake on.
It seems like yesterday my grandaughter was born, she will be 14 in a couple of months and she is 6" taller than me already. When did she turn into this beautiful young lady

The first 20 took forever, the next 20 in about 10 and now a year feels like a month. I'm still 35 in a 52 year-old body that acts like it's 92. I'm too young to be old!

I'm 60, and once in awhile marvel that I've already been through rope-skipping, alphabet learning, high school, John and Robert Kennedy, Martin King, motherhood, a career, and the birth and college entry of my grandson. If I should reach an elder age, I'm sure today will be another occasional marvel.

How ironic, my daughter and I were just talking about this yesterday. ( She is 48) We were talking about how when we were little it seemed like summer lasted a year but now it's summer then winter in what seems like a few weeks. Like it's already been two months since I had my knee replacement surgery. She thought it was only a month ago. Time now seems to fly.

That's such a strange thing! While I was working my A dbl's off for all those years it seemed like forever. Time just seemed to drag and drag... Now, I look in the mirror and wonder where it all went and how I got here so fast!

Good Question...

not really and i think that as you grow older time moves slower since you have the extra time to spend on fun things==most folks get depressed when they reach 50 knowing there life is half over -- but if you really think about it that is not true -- up to that time you have spend 16 hours a day trying to please someone and working full time very soon you will be retired and have that 16 hours to do what you want full time!!! for you math folks the missing 8 hours is spend sleeping!!!

Not exactly. Many, many things seem like they happened yesterday when it was actually 40 years ago!! When I look at all the experiences I've had, it seems like a lot got packed into not so many years.
