This is going to sound harsh but none of them. That is WAY too much horsepower for a first time driver.
There was a Cuban national that his daddy bought him a Mustang GT. It apparently wasn't fast enough, so the daddy bought the kid a Corvette. He then killed a family of 5 in Chevette.
I'm all for speed, but you would have to prove to me that you are mature enough to drive it. Gig me all you wants guys. I don't care.

Unless by first car, you mean the first car owned by you, or your first NICE car, and you have actually been driving for a few years already in your parents' cars or something...none of these is a good idea.
I repeat: If you have not been driving for a few years already, all of these cars are TERRIBLE ideas.
If you don't have a few years behind the wheel, you will not be ready to handle that much power, and you will stand a VERY high chance of crashing and destroying your new toy, and possibly yourself.
Also 99% of all body kits do nothing but make the owner look like a douchebag. Oh, and I think it's more traditional to turbo a rotary. And rotary reliability is tenuous enough as it is...I'm not sure adding forced induction is a good idea if you like driving the car more than working on it.
If it were me, and I WERE ready for it (and I am, but not to spend that kind of money on a car) I'd go for the RX-8. It is by far the nicest car of the 3...all its shortcomings are in the engine. (Like the rigid maintenence schedule, the fact that even if you take care of it it'll likely need a rebuild sooner than the other two, and the shitty fuel economy) Sure, a lot of the charm lies there, too, but still...

None
just from the choices you list and talk of horsepower over efficiency of fuel consumption, I would like to point you towards a geo metro.
I still dont understand the consumers of autos. Why buy a $30K - $20K car that is gonna be worth $5k in a few years.
If you want a muscle car, why not go out and buy one for a couple thousand dollars and spend some time on fixing it up. You will appreciate it more and learn alot just tinkering on it. You can buy brand new engine blocks for old cars for less then 3000.
And every time some new flashy expensive piece of junk comes out all the people with money have to run out and buy it. This is why the auto industry keeps making cars that get 22mpg and act like it is some big break through.
STOP BUYING THIS OVERPRICED CRAP

I'd go for the GTO. Although you say it's ugly, trust me- people on the street will be staring at your car-in the good way of course.

Be wary of Wankels. There is nothing inherently wrong with the technology-the seals issue has been resolved, just that only Mazda techs know how to work on them.
