Yes. Herbs are very easy growing plants and they are plentiful all year round. Be sure to cut off any old leaves so that new ones can grow and the nuitrience doesnt get wasted. If you ever want to move a herb plant from a pot to the ground, cut off all the leaves and stems so that the plant has a chance of preserving its energy for surviving the change of environment. Water the plant every evening (not when the sun is up high as this will burn the plant). Keep insects away from the plant by tying a plastic bag over the top of your plant, this way it will keep in moister and heat (like a greenhouse) and also keep pesky slugs and bugs off and you won't need to use pesticide.
Use some mulch or potting mix (rich soil) that is soil by the 10kg bags at the supermarkets like Woolworths or Walmart and sprinkle a generous amount on the plant for quick results every few months.
Remember the eat your herbs rather than let them fall off or rot.

Generally speaking, herbs are nothing more than a weed and easy to grow. However as with all plants, they do require certain growing conditions, you can't grow a swamp plant in desert conditions.

Yes. In fact, this year I grew oregano, sage, and chives. I planted some other things, but unforeseen problems arose.
If anything, you have to be careful not to give many herbs too much love! Though some is very much in order.

Lavender and Rosemary are easy plants, but be careful, if you leave them alone to long, they will take over your garden. A good thing though is that they keep spiders and other annoying insects away from your house, particularly lavender.

Chives, Parsley, lemon thyme & basil all grow well in hot & humid. If it gets too dry...water. This time of year, protect from freezing temps but should do well til it gets to 40 or so.

Chives, basil, thyme all grow easily. Avoid catnip or catmint, I made that mistake and had every cat in the neighbourhood rolling around in my flowerbed.
