It's a basic thing that is taught to each child at home while the kid is young by the parents. Some parents , ofcourse, need themselves to be educated in this matter , but, in reality, this is not possible.
I can boldly say that I do react against any injustice being done to anyone in my locality or wherever I am at any moment of time.I always explain the right way to treat one's children or one's spouse or one's neighbours.I have failed miserably regarding the stupid behaviour of some of my invited guests .....right from using the door mat, using the toilet , messing up the eating environment by handling bowls in a stupid manner and producing horrible sound while dining.

I think we do, for the most part. If we allow people to treat us badly, then they will always treat us badly. Others can see this and begin to treat us badly as well. There comes a time when we have to have self respect and stand up for ourselves.

I think it's all in your up bringing, Some women that grow up in broken homes where dad hits mom all the time go looking for the same type of man.

Somewhat. There is this sociological term that I learned about (sorry, I can't remember what it's called). It states that the way you react around people depends on how you feel they interpret you. Meaning, if they interpret you as being stupid, you act stupid. But, then again, no one can make you feel inferior w/o your consent.

Yep. People can only do to you what you let them do and, if you notice, everyone hates the witch in the office but no one messes with her. Everyone professes to love the sweetheart but they dump all over her.

Our parents teach us how to treat people...those people teach us how to treat them individually.

you shouldn't have to teach anyone how to treat other people..(unless your raising children)...be nice, caring, and respectful to other people..how friggin' hard is that?...if someone treats you badly, why waste your time with them...Fight back b*tches!..or it will never change!
