It is a normal household. I want to send a relatively big packet, with a few letters and things inside. How many stamps would that take?
And what do you think the rough monetary cost will be?

You'll have to use a green form, available at the Post Office. The rate depends on the weight of the envelope, but just for example, the cheapest for 4 ounces would be $11.00.

i have penpals in south korea

if its a normal letter i usely add 3-4 2nd class stamps on it

if its a bigger env i had 4-5 1st class stamps

or i go to the postoffice and get it checked,

you could always weigh the letter from royal mail site and it would give you a price,

Go to the USPS web site and they have the answer for you. If you don't know the exact weight of the package, just guess to get a rough idea of the price. Food scales are fairly accurate for small things if you have one.
