When Abraham Lincoln made the statement" Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged" was he referring to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, John Murtha, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Joe Biden?

He was aware that it was certain factions who wanted to split this country in two, and those factions were the same as those who brought the Private Central Bank called The Federal Reserve into being, through an act of fraud against the American people. They tried to establish a central bank during Lincoln's time, and other times, but failed each time to make it stick....until 1913. Lincoln was aware of the danger of both splitting this country in two, and of the establishment of a private central bank controlling the money supply of this country. And he fought against both. Our founding fathers were also aware of the dangers of the private central bank controlling our money supply, and that is the primary reason tha they fought for our freedom as a nation. The version of history that most of us are taught in school is intentionally misleading, and even bogus! *sm*

I think Abraham Lincoln is one of the most overrated persons in United States History.

People think he ended slavery because he was compassionate. But that is not true.

He ended it because he was pressured to do so for political purposes.

At least Lincoln didn't have to hoodwink the people into supporting the Civil War. His motives, however, are not as pure as originally thought. He was more interested in reuninting the Union than he was in freeing the slaves.

He should have been looking behind him.... hey a little political humor, the room is like vipers today.

The answer to your question. Lincoln understood that anytime you have a marked dissent during the conduct of war that you give your enemies hope and undermine our troops. This proved positive in Vietnam and those congressmen and woman you listed have done the same thing, so Yes he was ahead of his time.

I agree completly.

I was reading through a bunch of Lincoln speaches and you could have placed any of them in this time now.

He was a smart man and had it right then and now.

"The probability that we may fall in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just; it shall not deter me." - Abraham Lincoln
