fortunately for the world, we are not longer caught in the middle of an ice age predicted by the same people in the 60's. Back then, they wanted to take 1000's of tons of ash to dump on the polar ice caps to cause them to melt to save the world. Now it seems the ice caps are melting on their own and saving us from impending doom of being frozen in ice.

The Ozone layer is as u know a type of cover which protect the earth from the direct ultraviolet. Part of the UV is reflected back by the Ozone layer. Since the Ozone had got a hole the earth temperature is rising consequently. In 1966 there were only 10,000 polar bears.
