My husband and I are having a debate..I think the name is pretty he hates it. I`m not due for another 4 months but I was just wondering?

We would pronounce it Han-ya or Han-ee-ya. I was thinking about compromising and making that her middle name but I don`t really know of anything that it would go with.

P.s.-I wanted something more unique this time since we already have a 5-year-old daughter named Jessica.

It's ok. I have a Dutch friend called Hani.

With that spelling I don't think people will know how to say it right the first time. I know a girl name Aania (on-ya) and I love her name. It is unique and I like it more than Hania.

I think it is different but when I saw it first thing came to mind was hernia - I guess any name kids will find a way to tease about. You just may want to think about the name and the teasing factor

I think it's a pretty name. I knew a woman with the name (she spelled it Janya). But I think "Hania" is going to be mispronounced (looking at it, I bet most people would say "huh-NIGH-ya" or "huh-NEE-ya").

If he hates it, that should be the end of the conversation on the name.

I look at it and an having a hard time figuring out how to say it.

Its beautiful. I only heard it once. I'm an elementary school teacher. I saw it spelled Hannia. It's pretty and unique. I love unique names :-)

The name should be something both you and your husband like. Personally I think it is an ok name, not great but not awful either.

i pronounced it as "Anya".
i guess if you name her like that (hania) people would ask her to repeat it for a second time coz its hard to get it on first time. hannah is nice too.
