Hosey means "to stake a claim or reserve a right to (something)."

it must be real regional 'cause i never heard that one (before). me thinks it might stem from "i chose" which lopped off some letters, becomes 'i hose', but then maybe not. sounds like i person might've had a speech impediment and the whole thing went from there. like maybe? huh?
