There are about 300 million guns out there. You're not going to get rid of them all. Nor should you.

By the way, there are also thousands of gun laws on the books already.

They don't. It's quite the opposite. Apparently conservatives think gun control means getting rid of guns.

I fail to see why it is necessary for anyone to walk into a gun shop, and buy 5 pistols *today*. I do not understand why anyone would object to a background check, unless, they are a criminal.

I mean, get serious, there is no reason for a person to need that fire power.

There certainly is a problem with guns in this country. Straw buyers buy them legitimately and then sell them on the street to thugs.

Here's my idea of gun control. After passing a background check you can buy one gun per day. Before they leave the factory, all guns are test fired, and the bullet is scanned for striations and entered into a national data base. If *your* gun is used in the commission of a crime, then you are automatically charged with a felony for not controlling the gun, and you additionally are charged with the crime committed by the person who has your gun. No excuses. It's your gu, it's your responsibility.

This way you can have as many guns as you want, until you prove you are irresponsible. Then, no more guns for you.

The only people who could possibly object to this are criminals, paranoids, and delusional personalities. And these people are the ones that shouldn't have guns in the first place.

It means getting rid of guns that are meant to kill people only. Show me a deer hunter that takes a machine gun to hunt. An assault rifle like an AK-47 does not need to be in civilian hands to hunt turkeys. How about a bazooka to hunt bears? See how stupid your anti gun control stance looks? No one wants to ban all guns in a nation that manufactures more weapons of war than any other country. A sniper rifle has only one use. Why allow it to be turned on shoppers at a mall?

Because most Liberals have never stepped foot outside a city and have no idea what real life is about.

I shut off lights when I leave a room. I watch my electric bill and consider cut backs. Somehow I as a republican am against the environment... I was in NYC a few months back on business and at 2am I needed f-ing sun glasses to walk through time square....

At that moment I realized Liberals are hypocrites.

EDIT

Perfect example, look at the answer from "TheDude83"

he wrote-

"It's the ol' GOP who likes to slant it in the "the want to take guns away from hunter and police" BS

then he wrote-

"that being said, guns should be banned completely! There is no logical use for them, other than killing"

......... um....

Well, they should be confiscated and banned.
It's not safe to go to schools.
It's not safe to shop in malls.

It's like lottery.
You never know when you are going to get shot!

I mean, one day, you are walking down the street, going to get a latte, and the next thing you know, you have fallen to the ground in fear because of a string of shots.
Or worse, you are lying in a pool of blood.

Often times, the killers are your "normal" folks, or even kids.
And not the hard cold criminals. I wonder, how many more lives have to be lost before there is a complete ban on guns in America.

Gun control is like "family values." They are meaningless catch phrases.

actually, I think the more appropriate question is, "why do REPUBLICANS think that gun control means getting rid of all guns."

...the liberals know what it means, they coined the term. It's the ol' GOP who likes to slant it in the "the want to take guns away from hunter and police" BS

...get real man
