Hair is really hard to hoover isn't it!! You could have the best hoover but hair is too fine to pick it up and sweeping just spreads it around.
I have found this works:
Spritz the hair on the floor with a fine mist of water from a spray bottle, this makes it easier to hoover up.
Or, get one of theose sticky lint roller things you can get for removing hair and fluff off of clothes, the ones you then peel a layer of the sticky paper off to get rid of what you've gathered up and reveal a new sticky piece, and use this to roll over the floor every now and then to pick up the hairs.
I don't really know why it works, my old hairdresser told me this tip as I used to get my hair cut at home and find it a nightmare to sweep/hoover off the floor.

My husband and I also shed a lot- and we have a pair of cats. No more need be said.
I vacuum the kitchen floor at least once a week, then follow it up with a mopping. And that works very well.
Have you checked your vacuum cleaner for problems with suction, clogged hoses, or over-full dustcatchers? It's very possible that there is nothing wrong with your method, but there might be a problem with your equipment.
Good luck!

Like the one answer check the hoses your hoover should pick up the hair or your vacuum is not powerful enough another change your vacuum bag could need changing that will help the vacuum to pick up. I would suggest like some of the answers sweep with a broom a pick up with dust pan.

The vacuum cleaner *should* be picking it up. We have two very hairy dogs and ours does the job just fine. I'd take a look to be sure the hose isn't clogged and the suction is good.
Here on this side of the pond, we have available little disposable dust mop things called "Swiffer". They're very good at picking up lint and hair. Perhaps you can get something like them?

I had precisely the comparable project, i used a typical kitchen knife and a few form of hammer to bang the knife which then made the knife bypass under the lino and placed across it up. additionally use warm soapy water to loosen the glue which then made it much less confusing to get the lino up. yet another trick i replaced into shown replaced into shifting a warm iron over the lino to loosen it.

I have a dog that sheds a lot so I bought a tile vacuum. It doesn't have bristles like a regular vacuum just sucks it up. It works great. =)

I hear a depilatory cream is best for removing unsightly hair.
it doesn't say "do not use on lino" on the packaging so you should be OK.
