Double Jeopardy. I think it may still be law in US but here in the UK I think after the Stephen Lawrence case a few years ago the law was changed or was going to be changed. Sorry, not sure of the details, but I think that if new evidence arises (like DNA etc) then the person acquitted of the crime can be tried again for it.

Double Jeopardy was a fantastic film. I believe the Law has changed in the UK and you can be tried several times for the same murder.

Double jeopardy.
Its no longer law in the UK. It was changed a few years back so a person can be re-tried only if sunstantial new evidence hsa come to light. It was brought in to re-try the thugs who murdered Stephen LAwrence.
It has quite rightly been changed as it is no different to a person who is aquitted after ne evidence comes to light that proves theri innocence.

Double Jeopardy
Yes, it is a real law.
I think there once was a Japanese movie about a similar subject as well. The man was hung for a crime and was pronounced dead - but he survived... well... can he be hanged again?

Yes double jeopardy is still the law. However you must be tried and the trial must be completed and not declared a mistrial at any point. If a mistrial is declared, then you can be retried for that crime.
