I've got the "Poet's Market, 2008," but it doesn't have a separate section of contests specifically stating they accept previously-published works. This is a long shot, but...does anyone know of an existing list of all poetry contests (cash award) that are OK with playing "second fiddle"?:0)

Most publishing companies are not going to want to publish something that has already been published before. Just as if you were to send out a whole bunch of letters and pieces to a bunch of different editors, and two published the same one, they wouldn't be very happy. A lot of companies will actually say that they do not want something that you have been sending to other publishing companies, because they don't want this to happen. It looks bad on them, and on you.
